I've been here at least a dozen times in the last year, almost always out on the patio. With just one exception, the service has been great. The food is very good, and they don't skimp on the alcohol in the drinks. This is my "go to" mexican food spot on the south side.

Great food. BAD service. I've been to this place about five times. Every time their food was great. The enchaladas were delicious. The chile rellanos were amazing, but the service here was always crap. The restaurant is nice.. unique and extravagant. Quiet and family friendly. Our last time there, My wife, my mother in law, and I ordered our meals.. our drinks and complimentary chips and salsa came right out. We asked for a cheese dip. It never came. We then waited 25 mins for our food to arrive. Now i can understand if it was busy.. but it was just us and another couple! This place is always dead. I got up to look for our waiter.. he was tending bar with our food right there. I gave him the signal but he didnt leave the counter. We had to wait for another waiter to give us our food. Although slightly cold, the food was delicious. My mother in law ordered a side of sour cream...again never came. We paid our bill and left no tip. Don't miss out on the food but save your tip.

What a place... Tucked away a in a hidden corner you could drive by and not look twice until you sampled their food. Great! The food is mouth watering and the margaritas pack enough punch. The decor could use some help but it does not take away from the authenticity of the food. I enjoy myself and would recommend the place solely for the food and service. When I was there it felt like the whole restaurant waited on our table. Btw i had the fiesta fajita. YUM!

Great spot to bring friends for dinner! We had kinda a big group on a Sunday night. 8 people and a baby, but the staff at La Hacienda got us right in and rolling on the chips and Salsa. The chips and salsa were fantastic as was our server at keeping the baskets of chips full! You think we would have been stuffed before our meal even arrived but, I hadn't eaten all day so I was ready for it. I ordered veggie fajitas and they were amazing, cooked to perfection and a huge portion, I cleaned my plate! Left a nice fat tip, and will be back soon!

I came here with my friends one night just to hangout have dinner. The menu is standard as other Mexican restaurants. The staff was nice , but not very interactive. It was a bit busy here and a lot of people drinking, more here than I've seen at other places. The food was good , but their chips were a bit too salty. Overall not a bad experience, but could have been better.

The parking lot is always rather full when we pass by. Thus, we said we would go sometime. We headed here for lunch on a Saturday and although it was past 1:00, the parking lot was rather full. Upon entering the place, the ceilings were really low. If you are claustrophobic, you could have problems with their entry. Luckily, the ceilings everywhere else are higher. The service was very friendly and easy to understand. The salsa had a bit of a kick to the point the top of my mouth was burning. Their lunch menu has some items on it I have never seen at other Mexican restaurants before which was nice. I opted for the Richie's Special while my husband had the Happy Burrito. He liked his but said it basically tasted like the cheese sauce (the meat did not have much flavor). My dish, it was alright. There really wasn't anything spectacular about it. Not sure that we would come back as there are better Mexican Restaurants around.

We love La Hacienda on Ingersoll and didn't realize these two were related. This one is closer to where I live - so that's dangerous for me! The service is top notch, efficient abd accurate. Their homemade salsa served with warm chips to start is great. I've never had any bad food. Their happy burrito is divine: grilled steak and onions inside a flour totiilla topped with their delicious white queso. Fajitas are also a great choice! Their lunch options are awesome and extensive as well as reasonable! It also doesn't hurt that their margaritas are DELICIOUS! Check 'em out whether it's on the Southside or on Ingersoll!

Friendly atmosphere. Was able to have a nice lunch with family and get in and back out in a quick manner. Prices are very good and I would go back.

Nothing about this place is spectacular. The entrance is very awkward (in the rear of two buildings) so I never expected much. The main things that make an American-Mexican restaurant like guacamole, salsa, beans, chips were all greatly lacking. The topper that made this restaurant terrible was the fact that the chicken that I was served was not actually chicken. It seemed to be some foreign chicken byproduct. Ew! I have visited this place a few times expecting that it may be different if I order something different. But no I'm let down each time. I do not plan on returning. There's better looking Mexican at Taco Johns.

Place needs a makeover, somewhat run down, needs a good cleaning, chips too salty, salsa fair not too runny, had huevos rancheros eggs cooked a little too long, rice ok refried beans tasted right out of a can. No unsweet ice tea. Service very good. Will try other places before this one.

This place serves grease wrapped in tortillas, with a side of diarrhea on a plate, at least it was steaming hot, but after a few bites I honestly for the first time in my life lost my appetite, my dinning partner didn't even eat but one bite of his foot the hacienda burrito and picked up the chips and ate the cheep free appetizer instead, their service was horrible, didn't refill our drinks, didn't offer to comp. his meal even though he didn't want it, didn't offer him anything else, didn't even care to try to keep us happy in any way what-so-ever, I bet homeless people in soup kitchens have better meals, and better hospitality, and to boot, when I was being cashed out, I spoke up, the cashier rolled her eyes at me, and walked off!. I can not imagine how they are still open what the heck. Spent 28$ on a tiny portion of greasy nasty food that we didn't even eat but a few bites, this is the worst place I have ever eaten, and I'm not saying that with anger.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
